Nestled in the charming coastal town of Bodega Bay, Roadhouse Coffee is far more than your typical coffee stop—it’s a local treasure that captures the heart of the community and the spirit of artisanal coffee culture. Located at 1580 Eastshore Rd, this quaint coffee shop offers an inviting escape for both visitors and residents looking to savor a warm, handcrafted brew alongside freshly baked delights.
Step inside Roadhouse Coffee, and you’re immediately enveloped by a cozy, eclectic atmosphere that whispers comfort and simplicity. The space is intimate, with just enough seating inside and out, perfect for anyone seeking a moment of calm or a casual chat with friendly locals. The owner, fondly described as reminiscent of Santa Claus, greets guests with genuine warmth, making the wait—though sometimes necessary—a part of the overall appeal rather than a frustration.
The menu is a delightful showcase of classic coffeehouse favorites and standout seasonal specials. Whether you prefer the bold richness of an Americano, the creamy texture of a Latte Macchiato, or the decadent sweetness of a Mexican Mocha, Roadhouse Coffee delivers expertly crafted drinks that satisfy even the most discerning palates. Cold drink options like iced black tea offer refreshing alternatives on warmer days.
Yet, it’s the pastries—and especially the coffee cakes—that truly elevate the experience here. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake, freshly baked and perfectly balanced with tangy cream cheese and sweet blueberries, has been hailed by guests as some of the best they’ve ever tasted. Not overly sweet, with just the right hint of spice, these treats pair beautifully with a smooth cappuccino or latte. The Cherry Almond Scone and almond croissants, lovingly prepared by the owner’s daughter using homemade almond paste, add another layer of artisanal excellence to every visit.
Regular patrons appreciate the authenticity and homely charm, with one visitor recounting how the intimate setting encourages friendly conversations with the stream of locals who frequent the shop. Others cherish the opportunity to browse through the small collection of books, adding a quiet intellectual touch to their coffee break.

A hidden away gem, in a hidden away location, but definitely worth the efforts to get here. The owner reminded me of Santa Claus (really), what a cute place. Just be patient since he was by himself, but efficient. Loved his cappuccino and the almond croissants which we were told was made by his daughter, including the almond paste. It was so good, we bought two more to go.
Some of the best coffee cake I’ve ever had. Clearly fresh made, tangy, not to sweet, and perfectly spiced and filling. Coffee was good too! The woman working was very nice and efficient. Would recommend if you’re in Bodega Bay!
Eclectic little coffee shop with a small parking lot. We stopped by early on a Sunday and didn’t have problems parking. There was one person ahead of us. Lots of flyers and info to look at while you wait. A few chairs inside and outside. You could have your dog outside but it’s pretty small space so if it’s a big dog like we have, they might not fit. The pastry case why is that there is no heavy machinery used in there baked goods. You could taste the freshness. We have a chocolate croissant and a blueberry cheesecake Coffee cake. Both were excellent. Cashier was friendly and efficient.
Been there twice, when camping nearby. I like it a lot. I'll be back next week. I drank my coffee and ate my wonderful pastry there, both times. Last time while persuing a book in their collection, Long Walks in France--which is going to happen!
This is THE spot to get coffee in Bodega Bay, where the locals go. Great coffee and pastries, super friendly people working there. The seating is limited and cozy, and it’s nearly impossible to not chat up with the stream of locals that come in. Grab a drink n bite, relax, and enjoy the start to a great day from the uplifting people you meet.
The blueberry coffee cake was insane! Sooooo good. Good vibes all around.
